SIZE="5"]So I went to my mates place Last night and picked up this..

And today I Pulled the sus out of the Blue EG...

El cheapo discs and right rear sus..
Front coils... BC dont go that low... But Ill make them go that low.

Dirty dirty wheels... Im scared to clean them though

The Import EG5 seats that will be going in...

And some spare wheels... 16x8 +28 equips.. Gonna refurb them and bring them out to 9"... They'll have drag slicks on em one day

And thats all for now.... |
| Oxer kirjoitti: | So back to this build.
Picked up the rear calipers last week, gave them a degrease..

And I also found some JDM flat sidemarkers I had stashed away..

So today, after sleeping 3 hours (late night crew meet), I got up and started doing the guards. First time Ive ever actually used a proper roller, I usually use a piece of pipe, so I didnt know what to expect. I knew the car wasnt Immaculate and has been resprayed at some stage so I prepared for the worst.
The front guards had bog (bondo) in them, and the left rear arch had a bit of rust in it, so they didnt come out as clean as I hoped. Being a budget build, I really dont care
Before and after pics of each corner:
Front right (already damaged guard):

Rear right:

Front left:

Rear left:

Considering I tried to get as much as I could out of them, It came up not too bad. If it were a slight roll it would have been mickey mouse, but gotta pull to fit 9"s and 9.5"s with neg offsets :eyebrows
Only problem is, if they arent rolled enough, I have to resort to hammer, cause once all the type r suspension is on, the guard roller wont fit in there... Ill see how I go though. |
| Oxer kirjoitti: | So I had a pretty disheartening weekend... I wont go into mega details right now, but if something doesnt make sence, let me know. Ill clarify later.
Problems:
- Driveshafts wont work, Got quoted $450 per shaft to have custom ones that will work made.
- Rear calipers that were sold to me aren't Type R, so the rear could not be completed. Found this out only after I changed the control arms etc all over... so wnt to change the hubs out to put 4 stud back on to atleast be able to drive the car.. Spindles were different. So had to fabricate a spacer to lock the hubs on there. so saturday was a waste of a day.
Also found that the front ssr's on the legend are buckled due to the shit roads in our wonderful city, But they still hold air so Ill continue to destroy them
Positives:
- Made the exhaust, Over shot it a touch, but Ill fix that later. :rofl.
- This.

There are no Type R rear calipers in the state so it seems, So the other option is to redrill the discks on it with the 4 stud, and run vtir rear brakes, but it is illegal to do and I probably wont find anyone to do it.
Who else would like to fuck my life with me? |
I aint goin out like That!

I got to thinkin' "What the fuck is this?" Lettin' you know I take care of business
Thanks, Not really much for the interior, It has import seats in it and the quick release wheel, Im thinking of some sort of crazy shift knob and maybe a hydraulic handbrake set up, but nothing for sure yet. If I could get a full ferio interiour (special model) then I would, but they are extremely hard to find complete. I missed out on one by a couple of day, I almost cried

| So a smallish update.. I ordered this just over a month ago. A lip from a 'Reputable' company in the US.... Whats that I hear you say? "Ox, you dont own a firebird!" No shit. Its meant to be a jdm sir lip. I also ordered a block off plate for the antenna, But it was nowhere to be seen. Logically, I would have thought it would be in the pouch with the paperwork since its so small, but apparently us Aussies are on a different wavelength to you guys. Heat might bring it back, But it will never sit properly... And the funniest part is the shipping cost more then the god damn lip. I sent an email to the company 2 days ago... Apparently emails take up to a week to get through to you guys.... It may get lost in the electronic mail sorting office, so Im guessing I will never hear back. |

| I bet the lip could be fixed with heat and burned fingers. Though new is always new, so don't let the company easy on this. Civic looks great anyway, you mentioned about going even lower? lifting wheel arches or just tucking more? I have never been such a fan of 4-doors but this is an exception. |

Yeah I still havent heard back from the company, I dont think I will either.
The rear sits just about where I want it to, But the front is too high for my liking. Going to try and bring it down another inch and tuck more tire. At the moment the coilovers are on their lowest setting, but I am going to try and drop the spring a bit to get that extra inch cause there is still thread on the housing.
In a month Ill be getting some stiffer springs, so with any luck I will be able to close up the remaining gap between the lip of the wheels and the guard |
